POLICE DIVERTING TRAFFIC IN CENTRAL HAWKE’S BAY AFTER VEHICLE HITS PEDESTRIAN

A pedestrian has been hit by a vehicle in Central Hawke’s Bay and diversions are in place.

Emergency services were called Ongaonga Rd, Waipawa, around 9.45am on Friday.

Hato Hone St John said two ambulances and one helicopter were responding.

A spokesperson said they were still on the scene at 11.15am.

Officer in charge Sergeant Neil Baker said the traffic incident occurred between State Highway 2 and Lindsay Rd.

The Serious Crash Unit has been advised.

A police spokesperson said the road is blocked and diversions are in place at the intersections of Ongaonga Rd, State Highway 2, and Lindsay Rd.
