TEX MEX MOTORS' ROB ‘RABBIT' PITTS DEAD AT 45

Rob "Rabbit" Pitts, who starred in Netflix's auto renovation reality series Tex Mex Motors, has died. He was 45.

Pitts, who died Sunday, left a final message for fans in a video titled "This Is Goodbye (RIP 7/27/79 – 8/25/24)". His videographer, Jeff, confirmed the sad news, revealing that Pitts had been living with stomach cancer and died in hospice care. "He will be missed and we will never forget him!" the videographer wrote.

"I started feeling ‘off' after SEMA [a Las Vegas car show] last year and I was losing weight," he explained in text in the video. "But I was getting ready to film Season 2 of Tex Mex Motors for Netflix and wanted to be camera ready, so I didn't mind that so much."

Pitts said he was losing his appetite and experienced many "acid reflux-like symptoms," but when he sought out treatment at urgent care, they "didn't get to the root of the problem." His castmate Jamie eventually took him to the emergency room where he was diagnosed in late March with stomach cancer.

"Since then I have been getting treatments at home and it's been rough," he continued. "More bad days than good, but hanging in there. I have a lot to live for and life has been going my way. Don't be sad for me… I accomplished my dream of buying my own store, finishing Season 2 of [Tex Mex Motors] and marrying the love of my life."

Pitts and Marcos "Scooter" Carrera co-created and starred in Netflix's Tex Mex Motors, which made its debut on the streamer in June 2023. The series followed Pitts and Scooter as they scouted vintage cars in Mexico and transported them to their shop in El Paso, Texas for impressive transformations and restorations. The series began production on a second season earlier this year.

Carrera confirmed the sad news on Instagram writing: "It's with a heavy heart that I write about the passing of my cast member & friend ROB ‘RABBIT' PITTS. Rest In Peace Brother, I'm going to really miss you!!!❤️🙏🏻💔"

In his video, Pitts urged his fans to "ask questions and get answers" if "your body is telling you something is wrong."
